Happy 2016 Club Members !
As you will see below, the Board has finalized the 2016 Calendar of events. Following are some noteworthy comments regarding key 2016 MCG Club events:
On February 13th we kick off the year with our fist club event – the 8th Annual Mid-Winter Potluck Dinner at Leon & Lulu’s in Clawson at 5PM. Please let Barbara Skirmants know what dish you plan to bring – a flyer will soon be posted.
April 30th is the 10th Annual Shades of Pink Zoo Walk at the Detroit Zoo. Harry Kurrie and Barbara Skirmants have been our club hosts at this important fundraiser over the years and you are strongly encouraged to join us at the Zoo!
On May 22nd will be the Spring Tour. We’re working out the details, but it will probably be a drive towards the northern part of our area again this year.
One Last Blast at the Burtons!
The summer picnic will return to the Burtons fabulous home on Sunday July 10th. This may be our last opportunity to enjoy the Burtons hospitality in our local area, as they will be in their new home, up north, in Summer 2017. We thank Dave & Diane for their great hospitality over these past years. So, let’s have “one last blast at the Burtons” this year! Also, we‘ll be having a silent action for any 356 items (or anything!) that you may want to donate to the club.
The weekend of August 13th & 14th, we are planning a drive up north to the Alden Classic Sports Car Picnic & Show in Alden, Michigan. More details will follow, but tentatively we’re looking into lodging for Saturday night making this an overnight weekend in event. Porsche will be the marque this year.
September 8th – 11th is the East Coast Holiday down in the Akron area. Details are in the 356 Registry Magazine and at www.porsche356registry.org Think about this seriously folks because Holidays do not occur every year anymore.
We have tentatively set aside October 16th as the date for the Fall Color Tour. At this time, we have nothing planned, so the date could change. If anyone has any ideas, please let us know.
The 2016 Holiday Party will return to the beautiful Forest Lake Country Club on December 11th. This was a fabulous event this past year and we really thank Phil & Pat Kubik for hosting us again this year.
